Autism and Indoor Air Pollution
Autism is an epidemic with no clearly defined cause. Some researchers and physicians theorize that pollutants from indoor living environments may further aggravate symptoms. A number of possible culprits have been looked at, including pesticides, synthetic and natural fragrances, cleaning products, detergents, petroleum based products, and out gassing from carpeting, vinyl, and paneling. We have no idea whether this is true and make no claims regarding this, however we also believe that a cleaner indoor environment certainly is preferable to one filled with chemicals.
Some commercially available products that are marketed to deodorize, or "freshen" the air actually pollute it. A current article concerning this can be viewed here: Environmental groups petition U.S. to regulate air fresheners.
Omni-Zorb products can help clean the environment of pollutants. Placing our pouches in the vents of central heating systems can help. Read a short "how to" here.
Omni-Zorb pouches and carpet deodorizer both contain a highly pure and effective grade of zeolite. The EPA predicts that zeolite will replace carbon and charcoal as the most effective air pollutant sweeper.
